Billy Butler and Kansas City Royals Starting to Heat Back Up

I remember a player from the 1980s named Bob Horner that always looked like he was about to get a big hit. The Kansas City Royals of current day have someone like that in star DH Billy Butler. Butler has led the charge as the Royals begin to heat up again and make a run at the American League Central title again.

In the few weeks it has been since the Royals were the best team in baseball, they fell a decent amount behind the Detroit Tigers. Also the Cleveland Indians surged forward to not only turn the AL central into a three team race but to take the lead of it as well. Still it wasn’t that long ago that the Royals were getting all the perfect pitching and all the right hits at just the right time. After all, all you need to play extremely well is good timing.

Butler thought it would be nice to knock in double digit runs during the three game set with the Los Angeles Angels. Butler is easily the offensive leader of this team when he is on and he couldn’t be any more on than he has been recently. Interestingly enough he doesn’t do it with a ton of homers.

Though he is more than capable of a big fly or three, he has been most impressive with his ability to drive in tons of runs with simple great hitting.  Whether it will take the Royals to the top of their division is up in the air but it certainly couldn’t hurt.
