According to reports, Chelsea forward, 28-year-old, Demba Ba could face an early exit from Stamford Bridge despite joining the Europa League champions in January.

With the second coming of manager Jose Mourinho, the Senegalese striker – who signed from Newcastle for £7 million - doesn’t seem to be in the “Special One’s” plans unless he can dramatically change his new manager’s mind.

With the Portuguese manager in the hunt for forwards like Bayer Leverkusen‘s Andre Schurrle, Zenit‘s Hulk, Fiorentina‘s Stevan Jovetic, Manchester United‘s Wayne Rooney, Napoli‘s Edinson Cavani and Bayern Munich‘s Mario Gomez, it is highly unlikely that Ba would get game time or even be high up in the pecking order.

In addition to that, Romelu Lukaku will be back at the club, ready to fight for his place after an impressive 2012-2013 loan season, netting 17 goals in 38 games for West Bromwich Albion. Ba, in contrast, has only scored six goals in 22 games for Chelsea, including a minor two league goals.

Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley, believes the same as he told talkSPORT:

“There’s no doubt they’re going to have to sign some big players. He’s not going to go into the season with Demba Ba or Fernando Torres as his main striker.”

Speaking of the Spaniard, Torres will also be allowed to leave Chelsea if a buyer appears, with the hope that his nightmare Chelsea career comes to an end.

As for Ba, it’s not all bad news as there will be plenty of takers with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain interested in the past as well as clubs from Turkey and Russia.
