Brooklyn Nets End Season the Right Way

Nicole Sweet-USA Today Sports

The NBA regular season came to an end for every team on Wednesday night and for the Brooklyn Nets, they ended it the right way with a win over the Detroit Pistons that has them on a positive note entering the playoffs.

The Nets starters played between 20-30 mins so they can enter the playoffs with fresh legs, but also warmed up. You don’t want to come in to your first playoff game ice cold and with no game action recently.

Brook Lopez, Joe Johnson, and Deron Williams all played 21 minutes and all played well in their game action. Lopez was able to score 20 points while Johnson recorded 10. Williams did not shoot particularly well, but was able to dish out six six assists.  These three players will be the key for the Nets playoff run.

For the Pistons, a dreadful year finally came to an end with a loss. Losing was a pattern for the Pistons’ all year and it was right on cue that they would end the season on that note.

They did have some bright spots in their season finale though. Greg Monroe, Will Bynum, and Andre Drummond are all three young players who will be around for Detroit and they all showed they can play at this level. Bynum had a game high 23 points on 7-of-10 shooting.  Monroe was able to record a double-double, but neither players performance was enough to get them a victory.

The Nets now enter the playoffs and will face the No. 5 seed Chicago Bulls in the first round.
