Richmond Spiders Will Play Air Force In New Home and Home Series

Bob Donnan-US Presswire

On the 17th of September, The Richmond Spiders announced that they will play a home and home series against Air Force that will begin on January 2nd. This game has significance because Spiders Head Coach Chris Mooney was on the Falcons coaching staff for five years and was their head coach in the last year he was there.

The January 2nd game will be played at the Robins Center, home of the Spiders and then in the 2013-14 season, the Spiders will travel to Colorado Springs, the home of the Falcons.

In the 2004-05 season, Mooney had led the Falcons to an 18-12 record; this would be his first and last year as head coach for Air Force.

The Spiders last season finished with a record of 16-16 overall and 7-9 in the Atlantic 10 conference. Air Force who is in Mountain West conference, last season had an overall record of 13-16 and a 3-11 record in conference. This should be an interesting home and home series as it can only benefit both of teams in the long run.
