2012 Fantasy Football Busts Week 3: Vincent Jackson, Adrian Peterson, and Michael Turner

Here’s a look at the top three players for 2012 Fantasy Football Busts Week 3.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wide Receiver Vincent Jackson

Last weekend against the New York Giants, Jackson caught five passes for 128 yards and one touchdown, but he faces a tougher challenge in Week 3 against a very talented secondary in the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys managed to shutdown the talented wide receivers of the Giants in Week 1–so don’t be surprised if they take a similar approach with Jackson on Sunday.

2. Minnesota Vikings Running Back Adrian Peterson

In all fairness, Peterson has put up solid numbers over the first two weeks given his situation in which he’s bouncing back from a torn ACL injury that would normally keep a player out for a longer period of time. Unfortunately for Peterson, he’ll be facing a run defense in the San Francisco 49ers that is arguably the best in the league–which means his numbers could be lower than usual.

Plus, there’s a good chance the Vikings will be playing from behind–so that doesn’t help Peterson’s fantasy numbers either.

1. Atlanta Falcons Running Back Michael Turner

Not only are Turner’s numbers on the decline compared to the last couple of years, but he’s already having a rough week after he was arrested for DUI just a few hours after the Falcons big win over the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. It’s unknown how much Atlanta is going to want to use Turner on Sunday, but considering what his 2012 season has been like so far–it wouldn’t be a surprise if he displayed another disappointing performance against a San Diego Chargers defense that has looked impressive through the first two weeks.
