Despite Ben McLemore Injury, Kansas Jayhawks Don’t Have Reason For Concern

Kansas fans shouldn’t worry too much about the injury to Ben McLemore. The freshman sensation is going to be fine even if he does have to miss a few days because of an ankle sprain.

As for the Jayhawks as a team, well, they continue to roll right along, their latest win a 61-44 victory over Baylor Monday night as they continue their march toward a Big 12 championship.

Kansas has won 14 consecutive games and is unbeaten in conference play with a 3-0 record. The Jayhawks have been one of the more consistent teams in the nation, and while they are certainly far from perfect, they are a true contender for the national championship.

The thing about Kansas is that it has so many options. Sure, McLemore has been a big part of it as he leads the team in scoring and is also one of its best defensive players.

But the Jayhawks, even if they did have to let McLemore sit a game or two, would still be in a position to win games.

Elijah Johnson and Travis Releford are both go-to players for the Jayhawks and are capable of having a big game on any given night. Jeff Withey is one of the best post players in the country.

Kansas can also defend as well as any team in the nation. In the win over the Bears, Baylor shot just 23.2 percent from the field.

It’s tough to win games when you can’t shoot the ball.

McLemore will be back soon enough and he will back to his old self. And the Kansas Jayhawks will be just fine as well.
