Should the Wichita State Shockers Be Allowed To Tip Season Off In Dallas?

Wichita State Shockers

The Wichita State Shockers are trying to sneak into the 2013-14 college basketball season opening tip-off, according to The Wichita Eagle. However, should they be allowed to join the other six teams this late in the game?

Considering that the Shockers made the Final Four in the 2013 NCAA Tournament and will likely enter the season by being ranked in the top 25, they definitely should be able to start their season a littler earlier.

In case if you have already forgotten, Wichita State went on an improvable run to the Final Four this past season, but ended up getting beat by the Louisville Cardinals to end their season. With a Cinderella run–if you will–like that, Wichita State should be able to do whatever it wants–within reason.

Wanting to open its season in Dallas is definitely in reason. It hurts no one and if anything, another team will get a chance at a top 25 team, assuming that the Shockers enter the season by being ranked.

The other three games that are set to be played on Nov. 8 will be Alabama vs. Oklahoma, Baylor vs. Colorado and TCU vs. SMU.

So, college hoops needs to find a team for the Shockers to play so this simple request can go into effect.

All three of the games that are set to tip off the season in Dallas are very intriguing matchups, but I am sure fans would not mind seeing the Shockers take the court on opening night for the 2013-14 college hoops season. So hopefully a team is found for Wichita State to play because I for one would love to see it take the court on opening night–I am sure I am not alone.
