NFL Rumors: Should The New York Giants Give Ryan Grant A Look?

If you were watching the New York Giants on Wednesday, you saw that rookie running back David Wilson was benched after his fumble early in the first quarter. Wilson had a reputation as a fumbler in college and in his first game, it seems to have carried over. Should the Giants give Ryan Grant a look?

Ahmad Bradshaw played the rest of the way and finished with 78 rushing yards. The problem is though that he has a history of all sorts of injuries and has only played 16 games once in his career. He also has split time with Brandon Jacobs for most of his career but Jacobs is no longer on the club.

If the Giants can’t trust David Wilson, they don’t really have another option if Bradshaw were to miss any time. Andre Brown and Da’Rel Scott aren’t really the answer. No, they haven’t been given a chance to, however, have you seen anything from them, even in the preseason that makes you think they could?

The Giants have a history with Grant. He was a Giant before they traded him to the Green Bay Packers back in 2007. He only had 559 yards rushing last year, however, he missed the entire season in 2010 after eight carries when he suffered a right ankle injury.

Grant could give them a stabilizing veteran presence in the backfield that they could turn to. He won’t cost that much to sign. They should bring him in for a look, just to see what he has.
