New York Jets Make Incredible Move Trading for Percy Harvin

Wide receiver Percy Harvin made some headlines earlier today by being traded to one of the biggest sports markets in the world. That’s right, Harvin is now headed from the Super Bowl-defending Seattle Seahawks to the New York Jets. What prompted such a surprising move out of nowhere? The fact that the Jets are desperate for any kind of help to help salvage the rest of their terrible season.

The Seahawks will receive a conditional draft pick next year that could be anywhere from a second to fourth-round pick. While many will say that Harvin has been dogging it ever since he signed his huge six-year, $67 million contract this past offseason, he is in fact a major upgrade for the Jets.

Without any true complimentary receiver on the team, the Jets have put too much pressure on Eric Decker to deliver. Dealing with his own hamstring issues that have started to hinder his play, Decker will now be able to revert back to his No. 2 role and allow Harvin to start making strides against defenders.

Regardless of what many have started to say, Harvin will be a breath of fresh air to a struggling Jets offense that lost a heartbreaker against the New England Patriots. Making moves like this will help the Jets boost up their wide receiving corps, as well as give them a good centerpiece for a struggling offense that can’t seem to be effective passing the football. While many people believe Harvin to be a locker room cancer, he should be able to start fresh on his new team and simply focus on helping the Jets win games again.

Overall, this is a very smart move by the Jets to help give some kind of hope to their fading fanbase for this season. Harvin adds a good amount of value to the team, as well as a presence that has sorely been missed. Hopefully, this will spark the Jets’ offense to start producing more points to actually become competitive again.
