The last time the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers met, Kansas City started a team made almost entirely of reserves, and San Diego was in a win-and-in situation for the 2013 playoffs. With a little help from a shanked kick and missed penalty, the Chargers won a close overtime battle. This was just a few weeks after San Diego took down Kansas City in an Arrowhead shootout. No prediction is too bold for when these two teams meet.

Rivers rarely has trouble moving the ball against the Chiefs. With Eric Berry and Chris Owens ruled out in the secondary, it should be tough for Kansas City to change that. On the other hand, the Chiefs' pass rush will be in full effect. With an extra week to prepare, defensive coordinator Bob Sutton will likely have some ideas to force Rivers into a couple of mistakes.

Thomas finally returned from injury for his debut against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5. He flashed his playmaking skills with a beautiful 17-yard catch and run that looked like it was going to be stopped for a short gain. Whether it's on offense or as a punt returner, a TD for the explosive rookie is certainly a possibility.

Oliver has been an incredibly pleasant surprise filling in for the injured Ryan Matthews and Donald Brown. In his last two games, he's put up a total of 215 yards rushing and 91 yards receiving. With Matthews and Brown still out, San Diego would have to be crazy not to make Oliver a focal point of the offense against Kansas City.

Twice this season, Andy Reid has admitted to making a mistake by not getting Charles more involved. With an extra week to figure things out, I'm sure Reid will make sure one of the NFL's best playmakers gets his touches. Against a slightly dinged up Chargers defense, expect Charles to break a couple of big plays.

Don't be fooled by the records -- the 2-3 Chiefs and 5-1 Chargers are actually pretty evenly matched. The Chargers are four-point favorites at home right now. I expect a high-scoring matchup with several big plays from both sides. The game could go either way, but with Reid 13-2 after his bye week, and the Chiefs just as tough on the road as they are at home, I'll give the edge to Kansas City.
