During Tuesday’s press conference,  Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley announced that wide receiver Allen Robinson is done for the season after suffering a stress fracture in his foot.

Even though Cecil Shorts and Allen Hurns have played well this season, losing Robinson is big for the Jaguars’ offense.

Robinson was the most targeted receiver on the Jaguars roster. The ball was thrown his way 76 times this season. The second-most targeted receiver to Robinson is Shorts, who’s been thrown at 57 times.

Robinson is ranked 46th on Pro Football Focus’ list of wide receivers. He’s ahead of names like Steve Smith, Vincent Jackson, Torrey Smith and Roddy White.

Robinson recorded 48 receptions for 548 yards and two touchdowns this season and was on pace for almost 80 receptions and over 900 yards receiving for the entire season. Not bad at all for the rookie.

The good news is that Shorts, Hurns and even Marqise Lee have all played well this season despite the fact that they’re a very young crop of receivers. Despite this minor setback, the Jaguars really seem to have a bright future with their current group of young receivers. It should really benefit rookie quarterback Blake Bortles to have the chance to grow up in the NFL with players like Robinson, Shorts, Hurns and Lee.

At the end of the day, the rest of Jacksonville’s receivers shouldn’t have a problem picking up the slack left by Robinson.
