5 Bold Predictions For 49ers vs. Giants

This matchup features two teams that are going in opposite directions. One side believes to have saved their season this past Sunday in the San Francisco 49ers, and the other is merely looking to keep a screaming Tom Coughlin out of their faces in the New York Giants. With that said, I do expect some excitement in this game, and here are the five key things I will be looking for to happen this Sunday.

Ever since he came back from his injury, Beckham Jr. has been letting the league know that he has arrived and that he is here to stay. He will continue his dominant play this weekend with 100 yards receiving and a touchdown, as he is on his way to becoming the No. 1 receiver for the Giants; sorry, Victor Cruz.

Manning has quietly been having a good season so far, throwing for over 2,200 yards and tossing 17 touchdowns to only six interceptions. But the turnover machine that we have grown to love will be back in full force as he will be facing heavy pressure from an improving 49ers defense. Expect at least three turnovers from him this game.

As I said earlier, Beckham Jr. will continue to make his case that he’s on the rise, but Boldin will remind the youngster that he has a ways to go. This consummate pro continues to make every big catch seem almost routine, and while he may not put up the big numbers due to Colin Kaepernick’s inconsistency, he seems to always have a huge impact on the game’s outcome.

2. Colin Kaepernick Will Have a Big Day

He hasn’t fully developed as a passer yet, but Kaepernick is facing the 25th ranked defense against the pass in the Giants and he will have all day to find open receivers. And in the rare instance no one gets open, New York doesn’t have anyone on the field who can match him athletically if he decides to take off and run.

With the Giants depleted by injuries and the 49ers trying to keep pace in the NFC West, expect the Niners to steamroll the boys in blue this Sunday. Their punishing defense and consistent ground game will be too much for Tom Coughlin’s gang as they just don’t have the talent to keep up.
