Pac-12 Recruiting: USC Offers QB Max Browne On Junior Day

Just two weeks ago we were talking about Shaq Thompson, Cyler Miles and Brandon Beaver, who had just faxed in their LOI’s to Washington on signing day. Now it’s time to look at the class of 2013 with in-state quarterback Max Browne (Skyline HS, Sammamish, WA) who is already the No.8 overall recruit according to Rivals.com.

This past weekend was a major recruiting plug for several marque schools across the country including Pac-12 schools UCLA and USC. Former Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow was on hand at UCLA’s junior day generating buzz with recruits, including DL Eddie Vanderdoes (Placer HS, Auburn, CA).

Vanderdoes, a defensive end/tackle is considered to be one of the fastest rising recruits in the country. While he did not receive an official offer from USC on his junior day visit he did add “I felt like it was an offer but he (Coach Helton) didn’t say it verbally. He said he wants me to be a Trojan.”

Not getting an offer on junior day doesn’t mean too much but if he doesn’t pick up one from USC within the next week it’d be surprising.  USC did extend several offers this weekend including QB Max Browne, DE Joe Mathis, CB Johnny Johnson and RB Justin Davis. Browne, the only non-California recruit will be the Trojans No.1 target in the class of 2013, after failing to land a quarterback in 2012.

Other Pac-12 schools who made offers to recruits this weekend were:

Arizona: ATH/QB Brandon Cox (Pasadena HS, Pasadena CA)

Arizona State: ATH Elijah Qualls (Casa Grande HS, Petaluma, California)

Oregon State: ATH Elijah Qualls (Casa Grande HS, Petaluma, California)

UPDATE: Scout.com’s Greg Biggins has confirmed to me that USC has not offered DL Eddie Vanderdoes.
