Yesterday after the Philadelphia Flyers lost the 2012 Winter Classic to the New York Rangers 3-2, I kept hearing from fans that the problem was Sergei Bobrovsky.

To think that Bobs was the problem in that game, I’m sorry that is just stupid.  If it was not for the stellar play of Bobrovsky, the final ends up being maybe 5-2 or 6-2.  I will agree with everyone that the second goal he gave up was a soft one but he stood on his head the rest of the game.

The Flyers defense played awful in front on Bobs in the third period, after having two pretty good periods.  The third goal came when Andreas Lilja was more worried about getting in someone’s face and allowed Brad Richards to swing backdoor and score the game winner.

The defense didn’t clear any pucks for Bobrovsky in the third but he stood on his head and made some beautiful saves to keep Philly in the game.  All in all Bobs stopped 30 of 33 in the game.

The Flyers showed yesterday in the Classic that they need a d-man bad and will have to make a move at the deadline.
