Clemson Forward Bernard Sullivan Transfers to Charlotte 49ers

Charlotte coach Alan Major told ESPN that former Clemson forward Bernard Sullivan has transferred to the play for the 49ers. He will be a major addition for the 49ers who have not made postseason noise in some time. It would be an amazing sight to see Sullivan be a go to player for the 49ers. I watch a lot of ACC basketball, and never noticed Sullivan on the floor last year.

That is probably because he never quite cracked the rotation; he only managed 89 points and 66 rebounds in two seasons at the school. He is from Gastonia, North Carolina originally, and he will have to sit out the 2013-14 season in accordance with eligibility rules. Charlotte recruited him out of high school and coach Major sure is a big fan of the forward. He called him “a skilled athletic forward who’s able to handle the basketball.”

Sullivan was originally a four star prospect on both Scout and Rivals getting ranked 83rd and 87th respectively. I will be watching Sullivan with interest whenever Charlotte is in the tournament and I wish the young man luck in his future pursuits. If he couldn’t cut it in the ACC, then pro ball is probably out of the equation for him. That will not stop me from rooting for the young man though, in what should be a truly fantastic season of college basketball.

He attended Davidson Day High School, and he should definitely get more playing time with the 49ers than he ever got with the Tigers.
