It has been rumored that Batista is getting in shape to make his triumphant return to the WWE.

The main reason it has been rumored that he will wrestle again is because he’s back to his normal weight of 280 lbs. He dropped a ton of weight last year so that he could make his long awaited MMA debut. His first fight went well because he won, although a second fight for Batista was never scheduled.

However, experts that witnessed Batista’s first MMA fight commented about how sloppy he was. Not to mention, his opponent was not very good either. It’s also worth noting that Batista is currently 44 years old. This is far too old to be starting a career in MMA. Most fighters would be retiring from the sport at his age.

Knowing that his career options are limited right now, it makes sense that Batista will return to the WWE. He initially left the company in 2010 because he was sick of the “PG” family friendly rating. Now that guys like The Rock and Brock Lesnar have returned, this might have encouraged him to come back.

Batista has been cast in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movie which is due out in August 2014. Shooting for the film starts this Summer. If he wants to return to the WWE, it’s likely he might debut after filming has wrapped.

It remains to be seen if Batista wants to wrestle on a full time or part time basis. Maybe if Guardians of the Galaxy is successful next year, he might not even have to wrestle at all and become a full time actor instead.
