The debut of the WWE Network has served as an incredible catalyst for the rise of WWE’s developmental territory, NXT. The Orlando-based promotion serves as a breeding ground for all future WWE superstars, and in the process, has developed a significant following. An array of superstars in NXT have made their mark so far in 2014, highlighted by these 10 standouts.

Dempsey began the year as a relative unknown, as he served as enhancement talent for many of the top stars. However, he was repackaged as a throwback brawler a few months ago and has found his niche. Dempsey has a unique look, and has been dominant as of late, scoring multiple victories over Mojo Rawley.

Kalisto debuted early in 2014 and drew immediate comparisons to Rey Mysterio. An incredible high-flyer, Kalisto executes moves that have been previously unseen by the WWE Universe. He teamed with Sin Cara as the Lucha Dragons, and captured the NXT Tag Team Championship from The Ascension earlier this month. Kalisto could ultimately fill the void of Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio as a Hispanic star on the WWE roster.

"Big Cass" is often overshadowed by his partner Enzo Amore, but Cassady held his own as a singles competitor when Amore was sidelined earlier this year. During that time, Cassady showed incredible athleticism for a big man. Perhaps his finest moment came outside of battle, though, as he displayed his vocal talents in a sing-off with Aiden English. Recently, he and Amore have provided some of the most entertaining segments on a weekly basis.

Although Dallas only spent a few months in NXT before earning a promotion to the main roster, his time was memorable. He began 2014 as the NXT Champion and battled Adrian Neville in a ladder match at the first pay-per-view style event in company history, NXT Arrival. Dallas isn't dazzling in the ring, but his comedic timing is impeccable, and nobody plays to the crowd better.

English has excelled in 2014 as both a singles competitor and as part of the team, The Vaudevillains. His work as the artiste was tremendous, as he would display his singing talents prior to stepping into the squared circle. In June, he teamed with Simon Gotch, and the duo has quickly become one of the top tandems in NXT.

Kidd has competed on the WWE main roster for more than five years, but perhaps his finest work has come in the past six months on NXT. Looking to resurrect his struggling career, Kidd has displayed a new persona and improved mic skills. His storyline with real-life wife Natalya has elicited a great response from the audience, and his feud with Adrian Neville over the NXT Championship resulted in a series of stellar contests.

Prince Pretty has been arguably the best character on NXT in 2014, and now his in-ring prowess is becoming elite, as well. Breeze's breakthrough performance came against Sami Zayn at Takeover, and since then, "the King of Cuteville" has proven to be one of the very best in NXT. A narcissistic model who frequently takes selfies during his entrance and promos, Breeze has been a consistent source of entertainment in every capacity in 2014.

Konnor and Viktor -- also known as The Ascension -- dominated the tag-team division in NXT for a year. The duo finally dropped the NXT Tag Team Championship earlier this month, but their role continues to grow. Recently, they engaged in a feud with world-renowned superstar Hideo Itami, which will likely be one of the top storylines for the foreseeable future. Many consider The Ascension not only the top tandem in NXT, but in the entire company.

Zayn is perhaps the most popular superstar in NXT, and his ability to perform in a big-match environment is unparalleled. He's already produced two match-of-the-year candidates in his battles with Cesaro and Tyler Breeze. He's seemingly always just inches away from winning the NXT Championship, and the fans eagerly wait for him to finally get over the hump and capture the title.

Neville has been the flag bearer for NXT as it has grown to prominence on the WWE Network. He captured the NXT Championship in February, and has continued to shine since that time. He's put on incredible matches with an array of challengers, including Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze; and his finisher, the red arrow, is jaw dropping. He's the face of NXT, and has the skills in the ring to back it up.
