In the final episode of NXT before the show moves to Wednesday nights, the broadcast primarily served to build anticipation for next week's big card. As a result, several new or returning superstars and divas were featured. Here's who is trending up, down or stayed even after the Jan. 8 episode of NXT.

Gable made an impressive NXT debut, despite losing to Tyler Breeze. A former Olympic wrestler, Gable’s style and attire were reminiscent of Kurt Angle. Although he’s not nearly at that caliber yet, Gable did display polished skills in the ring, and the NXT audience voiced their approval of the talented rookie.

Prince Pretty returned to action after a brief sabbatical, and as always, entertained the fans. Breeze helped guide Gable to a solid match in his debut, with Breeze eventually prevailing courtesy of the beauty shot. It appears as though Marcus Louis will be Breeze’s next rival, though, which means Breeze will still be out of the main-event picture for the foreseeable future.

Alexa Bliss - Even

Much like Tyler Breeze, Alexa Bliss has rarely been featured on NXT programming over the past few months. Unlike Breeze, however, she came up on the losing end in her return, as she tapped out to Sasha Banks. Bliss seems to get better in the ring every time she performs, but she still has not found herself in a marquee storyline. As of now, he’s near the bottom of the pecking order among NXT divas.

Curtis Axel - Down

Curtis Axel took the route of Tyson Kidd by returning to NXT to try to revive his struggling WWE career. The early results were not promising, though, as Axel again struggled to connect with the fans. Moreover, his match with Hideo Itami was nothing special, and Axel took the loss. His time to reinvent himself may be running out.

With The Ascension graduating to the main roster, the Lucha Dragons are now the face of the tag team division in NXT. To that point, Sin Cara and Kalisto successfully defended their championships against The Vaudevillains in a rematch from Takeover: R Evolution. With their greatest threat out of the picture, the Lucha Dragons could hold on to the titles for a long time.
