Okay, the Trent Edwards experiment is over for the Buffalo Bills as they’ve announced today that Ryan Fitzpatrick will be starting this week against the New England Patriots. That’s not a surprise to anyone following the NFL and knows that after just two weeks into the NFL season, the Buffalo Bills are dead last in passing offense, with 89 yards per game averaged so far.

It really isn’t going to matter much who starts for the Buffalo Bills this season, it’s the same trio which were in Buffalo last season. They sucked last year, and they are going to suck again this season. The Buffalo Bills are going to be beaten like a rented mule this season and it’s a shame because they do have talent in both backfields. The offensive backfield with Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch and rookie CJ Spiller, and their defensive backfield which finished second against the pass last season only to the New York Jets. Other than those two strengths, this is a bad team.

So this week, the Buffalo Bills have allowed Ryan Fitzpatrick to draw the short straw to go up against the New England Patriots. Good luck with that. Buffalo has three quarterbacks on their roster which amount to nothing more than three career backups in the league. Brian Brohm should be playing in the UFL, while Edwards and Fitzpatrick should be career back ups on some other team.

It wouldn’t matter if Jim Kelly came back under center this week against the New England Patriots, the Bills aren’t going to beat the Pats. The Bills are biding their time in Buffalo until they get the okay to move to Toronto. The team is not spending any money, and when veteran quarterbacks were available this offseason, they stuck right by with the same trio that got them no where last season. Brian, Trent and Ryan. Might as well call them Larry, Curly and Moe.
