After using one of their first-round picks on Mark Ingram, there’s a good chance the New Orleans Saints will part ways with Reggie Bush–who is due $11.8 million next season–if he refuses to take a pay cut. If the Saints do end up parting ways with the former first-round pick, there appears to be numerous teams interested with bringing Bush on board–including one unknown team that may want to use him as a slot receiver.

Len Pasquarelli of FoxSports.com reported this week how one team has been considering Bush as a slot receiver if he does become available for the 2011 season. Not long after the team selected Ingram, Bush posted a message on his Twitter account indicating his time in New Orleans was up, but later apologized for the incident and expressed how he would be interested in returning for his sixth season with the Saints.

Still, just because Bush expressed interest doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed as the Saints would be able to survive without him at running back–which is why one team is considering him at a different position.

From Pasquarelli’s article:

Last week, The Tip Sheet reported that at least one team with time on its hands during the lockout was reviewing videotape of Bush as a potential slot receiver. But we heard from some teams this week that he is just as valuable as a change-of-pace back, who gets maybe 10-12 “touches” per game as a back and return man.

On the bright side for Bush, if things don’t work out for him in New Orleans–at least he appears to be drawing interest from other teams.
