Titans WR Kenny Britt to Miss Rest of Season With Torn ACL?
(Jim Brown/US PRESSWIRE)

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt left Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos with a knee injury and he’s expected to get an MRI on Monday. However, early indications may not be good for the former Rutgers star–with one report claiming Britt could possibly miss the remainder of the 2011 season.

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com claims multiple sources tell him that Britt may have torn his ACL on Sunday–which would be terrible news for the Titans considering they already don’t have the strongest receiving corps to begin with. Without Britt, Tennessee may have to rely more on Nate Washington and Jared Cook on offense–especially with Chris Johnson continuing to struggle in the ground game.

Despite his off-the-field issues, Britt has proven to be a valuable wideout for the Titans’ passing game over the last three seasons and this would be a huge blow considering the team’s surprise 2-1 start. Britt had already recorded 14 catches for 271 yards with three touchdowns over the first two weeks of the 2011 season–so he appeared to be on his way to another big season.
