Brian Xanders Fired As Denver Broncos General Manager After Three Seasons
Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

Brian Xanders is going to be looking for a new job.  The Denver Broncos GM has been removed from his duties after three seasons with the team.  Some have called it a firing, while others agree that this move was made because John Elway is the one running the show in Denver, which is true.

Hey, at least Xanders got to preside over Peyton Manning coming to the team.  I mean, he probably had very little influence in it, but he could say he was there.  This move makes a lot of sense, because everyone knew that Elway was pulling the strings.  Xanders was more of a figure head, while Elway ran the show.  It’s not a bad thing, but it’s just how business works these days.

Xanders is still a young guy, so he should be able to land on his feet and find a new front office job soon.  This move solidifies Elway as the man in charge, which will probably be the best thing in the long run.  If he’s going to be the main face of the franchise, you might as well have him making all the moves.  No need to have Xanders when the role he filled was not being used.

Brian Xanders is going to land on his feet.  He has the experience of working with Elway and a great front office.  I would expect that some struggling team adds him to their team fairly soon.  Maybe he picked up a couple tricks from Elway.  Anything that he learned in Denver will certainly come in handy in the future.
