In a Stanley Cup rematch, the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Boston Bruins 4-3. The Bruins outshot the Canucks 39-36. Tim Thomas allowed a rare 4 goals in a game today while Cory Schneider, a Boston native, won his 1st career start in Boston. The Canucks and Bruins have combined for 107 penalty minutes in the game today. In the first period, there was a line brawl between the Canucks and Bruins. It all started when Shawn Thornton jumped Alex Burrows from behind. Dale Weise and Nathan Horton would get into a fight and Milan Lucic would leave the bench and get into the brawl. Maxim Lapierre, Kevin Bieksa and Zdeno Chara were the other people involved in the brawl. Lucic would be ejected from the game. Ryan Kesler would get the games 1st goal of the game. Sami Salo and Daniel Sedin would get the assists on the goal. Brad Marchand would tie the game at 1 later in the period. Tyler Seguin and Patrice Bergeron would get the assists on the goal. Then a second after the goal, Maxim Lapierre and Gregory Campbell would get into a fight. In the 2nd period, Rich Peverley would score on a questionable goal to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead. Benoit Pouliot would get the assist on the goal. The goal in my opinion shouldn’t of counted because it was icing and no one touched the puck. Alex Burrows tied the game up at 2 on the power play. Cody Hodgson and Kevin Bieksa got assists on the goal. Then, Brad Marchand went low and clipped Sami Salo’s knee. Marchand would get ejected from the game for that dirty hit and the Canucks would get a 5:00 power play. Henrik Sedin gave the Canucks a 3-2 lead with a power play goal. Alex Edler and Kevin Bieksa would get the assist on the goal. In the 3rd period, Cody Hodgson put the Canucks up 4-2 on a power play goal. David Krejci would cut the Bruins lead to 1 with a goal. Joe Corvo would get the assist on the goal.
