For the past few years, the Indianapolis Colts have dealt with several injuries, especially with some of their most important players on the roster. It happened again in the Week Three pre-season showdown versus the Washington Redskins Saturday, as Colts cornerback Jerraud Powers left the game with a sprained knee.

The injury happened in the first quarter of the game as his status remained questionable. It’s unclear how severe the issue actually is, but if it goes on long enough, the Colts may need to find someone to replace him in their Week One season-opener against the Chicago Bears.

Powers has been the team’s top cornerback for the past few seasons. He had 51 tackles and two interceptions last season for Indianapolis.

With the team still working on a trade for a star player, which could be an offensive lineman or cornerback, this may seem like the perfect time to pull the trigger on a guy like maybe Darrelle Revis or Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie if they’re willing to.
