After The Main Event, UFC 150 Presents Some Interesting Fights
Rafael Suanes-US PRESSWIRE

UFC 150 features what could possibly be the rematch of the year when Ben Henderson faces Frankie Edgar for the lightweight belt. The first bout was a classic. Henderson won convincingly but Edgar held his own, pushing Bendo to a five round barn-burner.

While Henderson vs. Edgar is the main course, the entire UFC 150 card grabs your attention.

Here are two fights that I can’t wait to see.

Guillard vs. Cerrone

If you stand with Melvin Guillard you will be knocked out. Too many fighters have learned this fact the hard way. He has the best hands in the lightweight division. Unfortunately, Guillard just has too many holes in his game to legitimately compete for a title but he is an exciting fighter.

Cowboy Cerrone will fight anyone. He is a top 10 lightweight. The loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 141 set him back but if he defeats Guillard he’s right back in the mix.

I expect fireworks from this fight. Someone will get finished.

If it goes to the ground, Guillard loses quickly, if it stays on the feet I’m pretty sure that Cowboy will be knocked out.

Jake Shields vs. Ed Herman

If you defeat Dan Henderson at any division you are at the top of your respective weight class. You probably should not move down.

That’s exactly what Jake Shields did.

He’s finally moving back to his best division, in my opinion, middleweight.

Shields is an enigma. He’s a fighter who came to the UFC with a lot of hype. He was the challenger to defeat Georges St. Pierre.

Well, that didn’t happen.

But he has a chance at middleweight. Ed Herman is not much of a challenge but if Shields sheds Herman, he’ll get a step-up in talent. I think his body is better suited for middleweight.

Let’s see if he can make a comeback.
