San Antonio Spurs Would Be Best-Served Ending Series In Five Games

It is one of those odd-numbered years that the San Antonio Spurs love. San Antonio has won all four of their NBA titles during odd-numbered years, and it looks like they could make a run again this season. The Spurs have a 1-0 lead in their first-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers and really need to make it a point during Game 2 on Wednesday night that the Lakers have no chance in this series.

The Spurs have shown all season long that they can score a lot of points and don’t allow many. It isn’t going to help the case of the Lakers that they are without Kobe Bryant and scored just 79 points during Game 1. This should turn into a very easy series for the Spurs, and they are probably very happy that they got this matchup to start their latest playoff run.

With the veterans on the San Antonio roster, this must be a series  that ends within five games. San Antonio needs a lot of rest in between games just because of how long their main players have been in the NBA and the wear and tear on them. It would help people like Tony Parker, who could rest his weary ankle more along with Tim Duncan to end this very quickly so they can rest up for the conference semifinals. I’m sure that the Lakers will have something to say about that, but with their depleted roster, I don’t see how they can put up much resistance. If the Spurs can win Game 2 convincingly, it is going to be a very short series that ends before the end of the weekend or early next week.
