Jacksonville Jaguars Owner Foolish to Pass On Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow passes

There is only one NFL team that should be interested in the services of Tim Tebow, but ignorant members of the Jacksonville Jaguars front office continue to over complicate the situation. It’s obvious that Jaguars owner Shad Khan doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing, but why not take a chance on the hometown hero and sign Tebow?

As the team owner, Khan is not in charge of player personnel, yet the image of the Jaguars is suffering by not signing the ex-Florida Gator standout. When a group of Jacksonville radicals decided to make a petition in order to bring #15 to town, you knew that the hype surrounding Tebow was unreal statewide.

With Blaine Gabbert at quarterback, what possible excuses could Jaguars general manager David Caldwell have for not signing the ex-New York Jet? Besides, Caldwell has said in prior interviews that “we just want a fresh start”. With your top receiver, Justin Blackmon, getting suspended for four games, the Tebow attraction is a once in a lifetime opportunity and the Jaguars are stubbornly passing on the quarterback.

While I know Tebow isn’t perfect, he does have the ability to change the make up of the game, which is all that Jacksonville fans want when they tune in on Sundays. Tebow would make the Jaguars relevant, and his jersey sales alone would make the investment well worth the media headaches. Once again, Tebow does make sense for another team in the NFL, but the Jaguars are shooting themselves in the foot by not bringing the quarterback home.
