Predicting the Final Score of Redskins vs. Cowboys

DeMarco Murray

The Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys will renew their rivalry on Monday Night Football this week.

This game is a tale of two teams going in opposite directions. The Cowboys are the NFL darlings right now. After another mediocre season in 2013, 2014 has started off as good as possible. They are 6-1 with key wins against powerhouse teams like the Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints and Houston Texans. They even beat the Seahawks at home, which everyone knows is one of the hardest places to play in all of sports.

DeMarco Murray has been carrying the Cowboys all season. He leads the league in rushing with 913 yards.  There are only three other teams in the league that have more rushing yards than him. Murray is the key to the Cowboys’ success this season.

The Redskins are having some serious issues on offense. Kirk Cousins has been so bad replacing Robert Griffin III at quarterback that head coach Jay Gruden is starting Colt McCoy this week. He hasn’t started a game since the end of 2012, his only start of that season. At 2-5, the Redskins’ season is quickly spiraling down the drain.

This game will not be close. The Cowboys are clearly the better team here. They are better than the Redskins in every single aspect. Dez Bryant is on par to have a huge day from his second straight NFC East opponent. The secondary is going to have a field day against what is quickly becoming a bad offense. The Redskins’ rushing attack will not be able to get their footing and will fall further down the rankings. This will be close up until halftime, but the Cowboys will score on the first two possessions of the second half to put it out of reach.

Final Score: Cowboys 38, Redskins 17
