By defeating the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL divisional round, the Green Bay Packers clinched the right to face the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field with a Super Bowl berth on the line. It certainly won’t be easy, but the good news is Green Bay has the necessary talent to come away with a victory. Here are five key players who must step up for the Packers in the NFC Championship.

Julius Peppers signed with the Packers because he wanted a shot at a Super Bowl title. A win in Seattle and he’ll get his wish. Peppers was dominant against the Cowboys in the divisional round with six tackles, one sack and two forced fumbles. Green Bay will need the same effort from him again in the NFC title game. Peppers’ presence on defense could be the difference maker for the second week in a row.

Randall Cobb caught six passes for 58 yards and a touchdown in the Week 1 meeting. All season long, he has been a wrecking ball on offense. Plus, he’s one of Green Bay’s most dynamic players. Time and again, Cobb has come up big this season, as evidence of career highs across the board. Against Dallas, he put up 116 receiving yards on a game-high eight receptions. He has the ability to tear apart Seattle’s stellar secondary, which could happen.

With a majority of the attention falling on Jordy Nelson and Cobb, Davante Adams will be asked to step up and perform at a high level once again. He did it against the New England Patriots in Week 13 and the Cowboys in the divisional round. The Seahawks are going to do everything they can to eliminate Nelson and Cobb, which means Aaron Rodgers will attempt to get the ball to Adams, the hot hand, as frequently as possible.

2. Eddie Lacy

If the Packers want any chance of reaching the Super Bowl, they will need running back Eddie Lacy to do exactly what he did in the past two must-win games, which is rush for over 100 yards. It won’t be easy, especially against the best defense in the NFL. But, if Lacy isn’t relevant, Green Bay can kiss their chances goodbye. He’s easily the second most important player for the Packers if they want to taste sweet victory.

1. Aaron Rodgers

I can’t imagine anyone is surprised to see Rodgers at No. 1 on this list. The 2014 NFL MVP is the heart and soul of the Packers. They will only go as far as he will take them. Unfortunately, he will have to lead Green Bay into battle on essentially one leg, which will definitely hurt their chances. Still, Rodgers is one of the best of all time and he’s playing like it in the playoffs. That alone should give the Packers a real chance to win.
