If you're a sports fan, I don't really understand why I should be explaining to you why you should be watching this game. Two of the best teams in the NFL playing in the loudest stadium in football for a trip to the Super Bowl -- come on, son. But if you are on the fence about this matchup, here are 10 other salivating facts about this game.

One of the things that many people forget in this matchup is that two of the star players were actually teammates. Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Seahawks star running Marshawn Lynch back were in the same college offense at the University of California. Can we pause for a moment and acknowledge just how underrated of an offense that is, and admire that a relatively small football school got two NFL superstars at the same time?

Sorry if this one sounds a little harsh, but seriously, it's 3 pm on a Sunday. You know the only rational thing you should be doing or watching at that time? Watching this game. Forget about your kids and your wife for a little bit, and just watch this game. There's nothing else on TV. If it's on your DVR, it can wait.

As wildly successful as the Packers have been in recent years, one of the few teams they've struggled against is the Seattle Seahawks, which adds a little extra pressure to this game for them. The last time they beat the Seahawks was in 2009. That was a while ago, folks. The Packers need to get the monkey off their back and figure out how to beat a red hot Seattle team.

7. Richard Sherman

He's one of the best corners in the game. Don't put him next to a sorry receiver like Jordy Nelson. No disrespect to Michael Crabtree, but I think Richard Sherman's matchup will be a little tougher in this championship game than last year. That being said, in their Week 1 matchup, Rodgers didn't throw to Sherman's side one time. They claimed it was because of who was open, but at some point, they need to get the ball to one of their big WRs.

Even if it has absolutely no bearing on the outcome of the game, which it almost certainly will not, the replacement ref game from 2012 will almost certainly be brought up during this game. You know, the one that ended the strike? Yeah, it was rough. And with the recent rash of controversial calls being the central figure in playoff games, who knows? That game might be a forewarning of things to come.

Pundits and analysts love using earlier matchups between teams as evidence of what will happen in a later game. Well, Aaron Rodgers would tell those people to R-E-L-A-X. The Packers got destroyed by the Seahawks in the opening game of the season. People became worried about the Packers, who then tore up the end of the regular season. Ask any of the Packers, and they would probably tell you this is a very different Pack team than that one.

We all know that Marshawn Lynch doesn't take too kindly to reporters. However, he'll probably enjoy seeing the Packers' defense a heck of a lot more. The Packers have been really bad against the run all year long. This let Lynch run for two touchdowns against them in the opening week. This won't be like the Carolina Panthers, where Lynch had to fight for most of his yards. He should have fun against this rush defense.

3. Aaron Rodgers, His MVP, and His Leg

Aaron Rodgers has probably already sewn up his second career NFL MVP award. But if he can pull out another win and take Green Bay to a Super Bowl, that would certainly help, especially because every pass Rodgers is making right now is even more impressive when you consider that he's laying on a torn calf. He's hobbled, limited in his mobility and still one of the scariest players in the league.

2. Seattle Seahawks - Back to Back?

In the parity-driven NFL, winning two Super Bowls is a very hard task. Winning them back-to-back is nearly impossible, unless you're Tom Brady, who occasionally does that while crawling out of bed. The Seahawks are now staring down a very good chance to make it back to the Super Bowl they won a year ago, and start branding themselves a legitimate dynasty, and one of the greatest teams ever. That's if they win.

Forget all the superlatives and all the alternate storylines and human interest parts. The main reason you should watch this game is, in my opinion, it's a matchup between the two best teams in football, deciding who makes the Super Bowl. Explosive offenses, shutdown secondaries, superstar players -- this game is what makes sports fans excited. So do yourself a favor and watch the game.
