Kemba Walker Says Point Guard Tyus Jones “Has Great Pace to His Game”

Geoff Burke- USA TODAY Sports

Point guard Kemba Walker was recently in attendance at Under Armour’s Elite 24 game in Brooklyn and he came away highly impressed with Apple Valley (MN) point guard Tyus Jones.

“He was very good tonight, all the guys were, they’re all super-advanced,” Kemba Walker told SNY.tv postgame. “I enjoyed the game and enjoyed watching him play.  Tyus Jones is really good, he has great pace to his game. I enjoyed his game out here tonight.”

Walker knows a thing or two about the point guard position so his opinion should not be taken lightly, and one day Jones will in all likelihood be a better floor general than Walker. That remains to be seen, but in the meantime we will definitely follow how Jones’ senior season goes and also how his official recruiting visits go. Walker will have to just enjoy Jones from afar for the current moment. Jones did not get to start the game with fellow Minnesotan Rashad Vaughn which I noticed below, which is too bad.

Jones has said in the past that he wants to make his recruiting decision by November, and the Duke Blue Devils have the last official visit so they are the odds on favorite. It has been rumored that they are in the lead for quite a long time, but we should know pretty soon after that official visit.
