My heart is still beating so hard. I am still marking out. Brock Lesnar is back in the WWE and he brought the pain to John Cena.

It’s been a long time coming since Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE. Since his epic debut where he destroyed little Spike Dudley, Lesnar has been one of the indestructible forces the WWE has ever seen. Paired with the microphone messiah, Paul Heyman, Lesnar quickly grew as one of Vince McMahon’s budding stars. Lesnar reached his shining moment at Wrestlemania 19 when he won the WWE championship from Kurt Angle in the show’s main event. While Lesnar did win the title that night, that match is mostly remembered for Lesnar almost breaking his neck from a botched shooting star press.

After that Wrestlemania, Lesnar was easily Smackdown’s top draw all the way up to his departure in 2004. Our lasting memory of Lesnar in the WWE was losing to Eddie Guerrero at No Way Out and Bill Goldberg at Wrestlemania. Or if you want to get technical, it would be flipping off Stone Cold Steve Austin before getting stunned. Needless to say, Lesnar didn’t get his riding off into the sunset moment. Then, as we all know by now, Lesnar tried to become an NFL player with the Minnesota Vikings. That dream was crushed as fast as Spike Dudley’s spine, so Lesnar turned to the world of mixed martial arts.

Whether it was from the WWE marks like myself, or the strict MMA fans who hated the fact their sport was getting infiltrated by professional wrestlers, Lesnar quickly became one of the most polarizing figures in the sport. Well, tonight, four months after leaving the Octagon, Lesnar made his return to the squared circle. The crowd was marking out before he even came to the ring – and when he did – it was as glorious as it sounded.

Brock Lesnar is back, baby! Can I get a hell yeah!?
