A tag team partner in the WWE is a great asset to any wrestler. When you’re clawing and scratching your way to the top, it’s nice to have somebody that has your back.

That is unless John Cena is the one watching your back.

John Cena is one of the worst tag team partners in the WWE. I have never seen a face act more selfish than Cena in a tag team match. It’s like he always has to be the center of attention.

A prime example of this happened last Monday on Raw when Cena was in a tag match with Team Hell No being his partners. Daniel Bryan was dazzling the fans like he always does, when of course the yes chants started filling the arena. This would have been a great moment had it not been for Cena looking around the arena and stealing Daniel Bryan’s taunt as if he was the one making them chant. Does Cena think that Daniel Bryan needs a boost to get on his level? Last time I checked, Bryan is one of the most popular wrestlers among all the fans, while Cena is only loved by women and children.

Cena has shown a history of this kind of behavior. I remember when “Feed Me More” started taking over as the prime chant in the WWE. Of course Cena had to poke his nose in this one, too. Is he upset that nobody chants “You can’t see me” anymore?

It’s not only the chant stealing either. Getting teamed with Cena is the wrestling equivalent of the kiss of death. Three things will happen to you when getting paired with Cena. One, Cena will almost single handedly win the match after you get demolished. Two, Cena will give his best effort but lose the match because you, the weaker partner, gets pinned. Three, you will turn on Cena and cost him the match, making you turn heel and lose all the fan support you worked so hard to gain.

I’m sure nobody wants to get paired with Cena, but somebody has to do it. So I hope the unfortunate wrestler enjoys his time on the ropes watching Cena shoulder check the opponents over and over. Who knows? Maybe Cena will at least let the guy raise his hand.
