Geno Smith Firing Agency Shows Immaturity, Why Teams Passed on Him

If you thought the New York Jets ended the circus by waiving Tim Tebow, guess again. After falling to the Jets in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Geno Smith fired his agency, Select Sports, and according to the New York Daily News, it’s because he wasn’t the first overall pick.

You read that right — this kid fired his agency because he didn’t get drafted high enough. He’s an idiot! Sure, he scored low on his Wonderlic test, but this dude’s IQ has to be around the same number as his shoe size.

Does he not know that his agent has absolutely nothing to do with when he’s drafted? It’s all on him! Maybe that “scorching” scouting report about his immaturity wasn’t so inaccurate after all, huh? This ain’t West Virginia – it’s the NFL and the folks in this league don’t put up with crybabies, just ask Vince Young.

Naturally, Smith says he didn’t fire his agent because he got embarrassed on draft day, but the Daily News gave an exact quote from Smith regarding the situation: “he believed he ‘would be and should be’ the first overall pick,” which led to the firing of his agency.

It’s safe to say Geno isn’t off to a great start in his NFL career.
