The NASCAR Nationwide Series has provided plenty of competition and future stars of racing but it is getting ready for a new addition to the line up.

Darrell Wallace Jr., who currently drives for Joe Gibbs Racing in the NASCAR K&N Series will be making his Nationwide debut in Iowa on May 20th. Wallace will be making his first Nationwide start driving in the No. 20 Toyota Camry. Joe Gibbs racing has been promoting his start via their Facebook page.

In a NASCAR teleconference Wallace mentioned that he plans on running four races on the Nationwide Series this season. Iowa was chosen as his debut track since he had success there before in the K&N series.

Wallace has several accomplishments in various racing series. He won Rookie of the Year Honors in the K&N Pro Series East back in 2010. His first win in the series was back in March 2010 where he became the youngest winner as well as the first African-American to win in the series. He is also a graduate of NASCAR’s Drive For Diversity program.

Just about two weeks ago Wallace participated in Denny Hamlin’s Short Track Show Down in Richmond where he finished seventh.
