Do the San Antonio Spurs ever struggle?  They are off to another great start this season as the team sits at 22-8.  It always seems like the Spurs might be declining but ever year head coach Greg Popovich has this team in contention.  They are never usually the most talented team but year in and year out they are always in contention for an NBA title.  Popovich has become such a good coach that he is even in the discussion for the greatest coach of all time.  He still has quite a ways to go to catch guys like Phil Jackson, but he is winning at such a great pace that his all time record will surely be up there with the all time greats.

Can the Spurs win the title this year?  It is a tough question to answer simply because the Western Conference looks so wide open.  They are definitely not the most talented team as that title belongs to teams like the Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, and Oklahoma City Thunder.  That has never stopped the Spurs before and it shouldn’t be a problem this season.  They definitely have a chance to bring more hardware back to the city of San Antonio, but it will be a tough climb and one that they could certainly struggle with.  One thing they have going for them is the play of Tim Duncan.  Will this guy ever show signs of decline?  The guy is an absolute stud and has his spot in the Hall of Fame comfortable reserved whenever he decides to retire.

The Spurs always seems to be in contention when it matters most and this season is shaping up to be another special one for the organization.
