Boston Celtics Draft Prospects: Juvonte Reddic

Boston Celtics, Juvonte Reddic

The Boston Celtics will always be looking for added depth in their frontcourt and VCU junior forward Juvonte Reddic will be another name they will be interested in if he declares for the NBA Draft this summer. In our previews, we discuss people as if everyone is available to see exactly how they would fit the Celtics if they were made available to them in June. Reddic will probably end up staying in Richmond for his junior year, but he makes for an intriguing name nonetheless. Can you blame him if he stays? Who wouldn’t want to play for Rams Head Coach Shaka Smart? The guy is a stud head coach and plays a style that so many players want to play. Playing a fast pace, full court pressing style compared to a boring, slow offense like Wisconsin, which one would you want to play for?

Reddic would be a great second round selection this summer. He has nice size for the four position, standing 6’9 and weight around 230 pounds. He has athletic for the position and has nice post moves. He is a very poor man’s Al Jefferson on the offensive end. I guess you could say he is similar defensively as well because he needs a ton of work rebounding and defending stronger post players. He has nice strength overall, but still needs to gain more muscle for the next level. The Celtics would take their time with Reddic as he is only 20 years old and does have a nice outlook. Athletic frontcourt players are always coveted and you can bet the green would take a serious look.
