Debby Wong-US PRESSWIRE

The Hofstra Pride has announced their 2012-2013 NCAABB schedule. This season, the Pride will be competing in 9 non-conference contests as well as the 2K Sports Classic.

First, they will face Monmouth University on November 9 in West Long Branch, New Jersey. Monmouth hails from the Northeast Conference and sported a very lackluster 12-20 record. The Pride should be able to start their season off win a nice road win.

Following that away contest, the Pride will be participating in the 2K Sports Classic in the Mack Sports Complex. The tournament will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. During the event, Hofstra will take on Purdue, South Dakota State, UDC, and Marshall. The Pride will definitely be tested against multiple opponents who are coming off impressive postseason appearances.

After that tournament, Hofstra will enter a short two-game road trip against Manhattan College and George Washington University. They will face Manhattan on Nov 21 in New York, in a contest against a team that is rising and returning most of their top scorers from last season. GW, on the other hand was not very successful last season in the A 10 and overall.

Head coach Moe Cassara’s club will then take on Southern Methodist and Wagner at home on December 1 and 4. Southern Methodist could potentially become the Conference USA darlings this season under new head coach, Larry Brown. Wagner is coming off one of their greatest season in school history and returns many key components of that roster as well as a few key transfers and additions. Both matchups will test Hofstra.

Following that home stand, the Pride will play 2 more away games (Long Island, Florida Atlantic), 1 home game (Wright State), and a game against Tulane at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn before opening up conference play.

Hofstra is not one of the top teams in the CAA, and they will most likely struggle both in and out of their conference this season.
