Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan Not Worried Over Contract

(Dale Zanine/USA Today Sports)

Over the first five seasons of his career, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has proven to be a winner–even if he does just have one playoff win in four career appearances. There’s no question Ryan has proven to be an effective team player over the years as a member of the Falcons and when looking at his contract situation–it’s just another example of how so.

Instead of making it a big deal like most players, Ryan has been patient when it comes to receiving a new contract from the organization–mainly because he knows it’s one of those situations where it will come over time. Atlanta realizes Ryan is too valuable to lose for the franchise and the last thing they would want to see happen is have him end up on a different team.

After finishing with the best record in the NFC during the regular season last year, expectations will be even higher for Ryan and the Falcons heading into the 2013 season as they look to have one of the top offenses once again consisting of Roddy White, Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez, and Steven Jackson–who signed with the team this offseason.

Now that they finally earned that first playoff win under Ryan, expect this team to use this has motivation to get over the hump and reach the Super Bowl next season. And if that does happen–it will give the Falcons even more of a reason to reward Ryan with a hefty contract.
