Kentucky Commit Karl Towns Jr. Bests Andrew Wiggins In 3-Point Contest At Nike Hoops Summit Practice

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

Karl Towns Jr. and Andrew Wiggins will be teammates when they play at the Nike Hoop Summit for the world team. We might get our first glimpse tomorrow on whether Wiggins’ goal to bring Canada home a gold medal is a pipe dream or a possible reality. The two players are teammates on the “World” select team and they will try to give the U.S. kids a run for their money tomorrow.

Wiggins was recently named the Gatorade National High School Boys’ basketball player of the year, and he is currently undecided on where he will attend school. Towns Jr. has already committed to the Kentucky Wildcats who Wiggins is still considering, but some analysts have claimed that the Wildcats may be out of the running. Wiggins brother, Nick Wiggins, has said too that the Wildcats are not the “best fit” for Wiggins.

Personally, I don’t think any of us truly know. Wiggins has tweeted before that if you are not him or his family, then you don’t know about his recruitment; this strikes me as true. Wiggins has been very careful about when and where he lets information out of the bag and the people close to him have been careful as well. He has the whole college basketball world watching his every move though, so when he makes a decision expect the news to travel quickly.
