2013 NBA Playoffs: Stephen Curry is a Superstar; Can the Golden State Warriors Make a Run to the NBA Finals?

Kyle Terada-USA Today Sports

The 2013 NBA Playoffs are young, but for the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry, they’ve already served as the exact springboard that the organization needs.

Curry is quickly evolving into not only the purest shooters in the NBA, but potentially the next superstar to keep an eye upon. Curry and the Warriors currently hold a 3-1 edge in their playoff series with the Denver Nuggets and that may come as a bit of shock considering Golden State is the six seed. On Tuesday night, the two will square off in Denver, as the Nuggets look to protect their home court and their playoff life.

At this point however, the Warriors are in control and looking like a team that could not only advance to the next round, but could potentially do so on in only five games. With that being said however, the Nuggets have lost only four games at home all season long, including once this series, so let’s not fold things up too quickly.

Yet considering the Warriors can take one of the next three potential contests and advance to the Western Conference semifinals, what are the chances Golden State can make an even deeper run in this year’s playoffs? With a win on Tuesday night, the Warriors would move forward to face the second seeded San Antonio Spurs — a series that could answer that potential in its own right.

For now however, let’s pump the brakes on any and all talk of the Golden State Warriors and the 2013 NBA Finals. Are the Warriors a dark horse threat in the Western Conference? You better believe it. Do they have the capability to make a run to the NBA Finals? Well, let’s give that argument a little more time to develop itself.

In fact, Golden State still has work to do in its opening round series with Denver.
