2013 NBA Draft: Reggie Bullock Could Become Member of Portland Trail Blazers

Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

Reggie Bullock is a player the Portland Trail Blazers have been thinking about a lot lately. The Trail Blazers have three second-round picks, and that’s when NBA observers expect the 6-7, 200-pound junior small forward from North Carolina to be selected.

Bullock would give the Blazers additional depth as a small forward and he does seem to carry some impressive credentials. Bullock last season averaged 31.4 minutes, 13.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.3 steals a game. He shot 76.7 percent in free throws, 48.3 percent from the floor and 43.6 percent on three-pointers. His outside shooting is excellent and he can do some damage with that shooting percentage in the NBA.

His shooting ability is what will especially attract teams. He also showed he can be a good rebounder, ball handler and can be versatile.

He’ll have to create more shots when he reaches the NBA level. Nearly two-thirds of his field goal attempts last season were from three-point range.

Bullock has a lot to offer a team besides scoring. The NBA scouts give him good marks in steals and rebounding.

Bullock will add depth to a team for the first couple of years. Whether or not he’ll emerge into an NBA starter remains to be seen, but if he gets to work on more of his game, he could be seeing lots of action. He was not a prolific scorer with North Carolina, nor did he have to be. That will change in the NBA. If he can score, his team will have him put the ball up quite a bit.
