The great football mind of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is at it again. This time, it involves widely known and highly scrutinized quarterback Tim Tebow.

Monday, June 10, reports surfaced that the Patriots signed Tebow to a deal to be their newest quarterback on the team. Many were quick to question the move. However, it is very hard to question the mind of Belichick.

If there is one thing that the Patriots do well, it’s pick players for their team. It doesn’t matter if it’s through the draft, free agency or a trade, they know who to get, how to get them, why to get them and what to do when they get them. When it comes to this instance, the creative minds in New England have to have something huge in mind with their newest offensive toy.

This isn’t the first time that the Patriots have brought in a free agent that brings with it a lot of attention and media baggage. Just a few years ago they brought in a receiver by the name of Randy Moss that was coming off of a sub-600 yards receiving season and turned him into a lean-mean-catching machine for Tom Brady. That same season, the Patriots finished 18-1 after losing in the Super Bowl to the New York Giants.

While Tebow will bring a lot of media attention with him, there may not be a better man to handle that attention than Belichick. Belichick is a no-nonsense type of coach that commands the attention of everyone when he is around. There is no doubt that the ensuing media frenzy will be met with class and grace when they get to New England.

The plan that Belichick has for Tebow in New England is a bit difficult to figure out. With New England already having Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett at quarterback, you have to think that Tebow won’t be seeing much time at that position. However, that does not mean that the creative wheels in that head of his aren’t turning.

Regardless of whether you love him or hate him, you have to respect Tebow’s ability to make things happen. He likely won’t be the starting quarterback, but he won’t sit on the bench either. He will be utilized in some sort of wrinkle that will keep the defense on their heels and give the Patriots an edge.

Simply put, folks, Bill Belichick now has another weapon in his arsenal. Having Tim Tebow on your team definitely won’t hurt it, and if you use him right, he could greatly improve your team and help it win ball games. The guy is a gamer and all he wants to do is help the team win. He’ll be willing to do whatever Belichick tells him to do if it’s for the benefit of the Patriots.

The signing of Tim Tebow by the Patriots is more intriguing than most people may think. Rarely do the Patriots go out and sign such a high profile player on a hope and a prayer. While it may seem like a stretch to sign Tebow, you can bet that there is a very elaborate, well detailed and well thought out plan in place for his arrival.
