That magical holiday of Thanksgiving is upon us and with it comes traditional Lions football. Hopefully going up against Jay Cutler and the hibernating Bears will help the Lions' offense get back on their feet. But who knows, they might not. Here are five bold predictions for Lions vs. Bears on Thanksgiving.

Since his return from injury, Calvin Johnson has yet to really look like the 6-foot-5 world destroying wide receiver we’ve all come to know and fear. On Thanksgiving, however, he will remind America just what he can do against one of the worst pass defenses in football. Look for Johnson to end with 10-plus catches, 150-plus yards and multiple touchdowns.

With starting left tackle Riley Reiff uncertain for Thursday’s game, Stafford might be in trouble, especially when Cornelius Lucas didn’t do such a bang-up job against the Patriots. The best way to slow down the Lions' offense is to sack Stafford, and you can bet the Bears will be sending heat all game long. Look for multiple sacks by Willie Young.

Cutler has been a natural target for joking and criticism. With his smug, I-don’t-care attitude, it’s hard not to make fun of the guy. But for the first time all season, Cutler will not suck and in fact will help his team more than hurt. How’s that for a bold prediction?

2. Matt Forte Will Have A Surprisingly Good Game

Despite the Patriots game, Forte still faces a No. 1 run defense in the Lions. However, his forte is breaking good defenses. Forte is basically the Bears' offense right now and has been carrying the team to victories. He will set the pace for the Bears and will be able to consistently gain yardage against Detroit’s defense.

Despite Detroit being able to throw the ball when and where they like, the Bears will win this Thanksgiving matchup. Sadly, the Lions have been in this position far too often and they’ll once again find themselves in a rapid descent from first place and from the playoffs. It’s the most Lions things the Lions could do.
