Coors Light NFL Fan Rant Wild Card Weekend: Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings

The Green Bay Packers received an unexpected surprise just hours before Saturday’s playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings when Christian Ponder was ruled inactive just hours before the game–leaving the team with no choice but to start Joe Webb at quarterback. Unfortunately, having Ponder in the lineup may not have even mattered for the Vikings as the Packers had no trouble getting by their NFC North rivals during their 24-10 win during Wild Card Weekend.

Despite splitting the two meetings during the regular season, Green Bay had the advantage in this matchup considering their playoff experience over the last couple of years compared to Minnesota. Adrian Peterson single-handedly carried the Vikings to the playoffs during the regular season after falling just nine yards shy of the single-season rushing record and the Packers knew as long as they shut him down–advancing to the Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers would be no problem.

As much fun as this game was to watch, one of the best experiences with any game is the tailgating that takes place beforehand. Rant Sports made the trip up to Green Bay before Saturday’s game to ask one question–do the Packers or Vikings have the better fan base?

Even though their team went on to lose the game, give the Vikings fan base credit as plenty of them made the trip to Lambeau Field. It’s always fun when division rivals meet in the playoffs and the Packers fans were all smiles after Saturday’s game against the Vikings as they picked up the one win that mattered the most this season.
