New York Knicks Forward Carmelo Anthony Suspended One Game

For those of you unfamiliar with the NBA, Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett is the last person you ever want to face in a fight considering he’s one of the toughest players in the league–so what on earth was New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony thinking the other night when he decided to confront KG off of the court?

Anthony was slapped with a one-game suspension and will miss Thursday’s game against the Indiana Pacers for his numerous confrontations with Garnett following Monday’s game against the Celtics. With the way things are tightening up in the Eastern Conference, the last thing the Knicks need is to play important games without their star forward–which is exactly what’s happening on Thursday against the Pacers.

At the moment, New York and Indiana currently hold the No. 2 and No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference standings and with the way things are playing out so far this season–there’s a good chance these two teams could meet down the road once the playoffs get under way. There’s still plenty of basketball left to be played, but every game counts and the last thing the Knicks want to see happen is have this game make an impact on the standings a few months from now.

This suspension from Anthony should have never happened in the first place and he should consider himself lucky that Garnett didn’t come after him when he was confronted after the game. As mentioned before, Garnett is one of a few players in the league you certainly don’t want to mess with–so let’s hope Anthony makes better decisions if he finds himself in these types of situations in the future.
