UFC 159 featured a compelling lightweight bout between dynamic fighters Pat Healy and Jim Miller. Coming into this fight, both fighters were known for their grit and tenacity, but it was Healy who ultimately outlasted Miller.

In the first two rounds, both fighters went at it. Miller was able to land some good shots on the feet, but Healy would impose his will and get much-needed takedowns. In the third, Healy seemed to just be the bigger, stronger fighter in the ring, and he was able to take mount.

From there, he would get the back of Miller and would lock up a rear-naked choke. Miller didn’t tap and was forced unconscious as the ref stepped in the stop the fight. This is Healy’s biggest win in his fighting career, and it came at the perfect time. Healy is now 30-16 in his fighting career, and he looks to be finding his stride.

Now on a seven-fight winning streak, Healy has the chance to fight some serious contenders in the UFC’s lightweight division. Whoever the UFC matches him up against, he will surely look to continue his momentum in hopes of getting a title shot.

Potential bouts that would serve Healy well at this point in his career include bouts with Nate DiazJosh Thomson, and Donald Cerrone. A win over any of these fighters would move him up the rankings, where Ben Henderson currently sits at the top.

Congrats to Healy, he is getting better with every fight and has proven to be a tough outing for any challenger.
