NBA Finals 2013: Miami Heat Facing Must Win in Game 2 Goes Without Saying

Steve Mitchell-USA Today Sports

After the San Antonio Spurs stole the show and the game in the opening contest of the 2013 NBA Finals, the pressure is on the rise right off the bat for the Miami Heat.

Tony Parker‘s late game heroics proved costly for Miami and now the Heat face a must win situation in Game 2 on Sunday night. However, that goes without saying — it’s downright the most obvious thing going in this series. It’s more obvious than LeBron James having to carry this Miami team at times. It’s more obvious than Chris Bosh having an uncertain shot selection. It’s more obvious than the witty and veteran Spurs having all the momentum early on in this series.

Miami has to win on Sunday night or they will face a monumental task of digging themselves from a 2-0 hole on the road. Even more so, if Miami loses Game 2 on Sunday, they would need to winat least two of the next three just to force the series back to Miami for a Game 6. That’s not likely — the Spurs are not going to drop two of three at home, especially if they are already up 2-0 in this series following Sunday’s action.

With that being said however, don’t expect the Heat to roll over in Game 2.

Miami knows that they have to win this game on Sunday and they will be ready to prove that. Should they even this series, things will flip back to San Antonio with even more intriguing expectations. The Spurs will play host in Games 3, 4 and 5.
