4-Star TE Jeb Blazevich Committing Today, Georgia Bulldogs & Ole Miss Rebels Finalists

Jeb Blazevich (Charlotte, N.C. Charlotte Christian School) is ready to make his college decision today at 3:30 p.m. CST and the two finalists for the four-star tight end are Georgia and Ole Miss.

Blazevich tweeted Monday night that he will commit on ESPNU during CFB Daily: Spring Blitz and according to the crystal ball predictions on 247Sports.com the Bulldogs are the prohibitive favorite to land the athletic tight end. 11 of the 13 insiders to weigh in with their predictions are siding with Mark Richt’s club with only David Johnson and Webb Lewis—two Ole Miss insiders—picking Hugh Freeze and the Rebels.

I’m going with the majority and think that Blazevich will announce he is committing to play for Georgia. They have a nice track record of sending tight ends to the NFL and Tight Ends coach John Lilly has done a remarkable job serving as his primary recruiter. If the predictions hold up Blazevich would give the Bulldogs their fourth commit this year and third four-star prospect.

Whichever team he chooses, and it very well could be the Rebels, he has put himself in a tremendous position to flourish on the collegiate level through all the hard work he has put in over the last few years. At 6-5 and 240-pounds, the former wide receiver has found a new home since bulking up to play tight end.

Blazevich posted on his twitter account Monday night to express gratitude to everyone that has supported him in this process and helped develop him to the point where he is on the precipice of committing to an SEC team.

Blazevich recorded 30 receptions for 379 yards and five touchdowns in his first season as a tight end. With his skills as a wide receiver that include crisp route running, ability t0 read coverages and strong hands added to his new found bulk, he profiles as the prototype new-age tight end.
