2013 NFL Draft: Are the Philadelphia Eagles Looking to Trade Down?

(Howard Smith/USA Today Sports)

With the 2013 NFL Draft less than 48 hours away, there’s been plenty of talk surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles and what they could possibly do with the No. 4 pick. However, when looking at the Eagles over the years, they’ve established a reputation as a team known to trade their draft picks–which could end up being the case once Thursday rolls around.

Talk is beginning to heat up about Philadelphia possibly being interested in trading down in this year’s draft and this shouldn’t come as a surprise considering how many different directions they can go in the first round. With the fourth pick, the Eagles could focus on numerous areas from the offensive line to quarterback, but there doesn’t seem to be a player yet they have their hearts 100 percent sold on.

With this in mind–it’s no surprise to hear them considering the possibility of trading down on Thursday.

If Philadelphia can manage to land a player they’re interested in during the first round after a trade and get an additional draft pick on top of it–why wouldn’t they consider the move? Obviously, the Eagles could certainly use help with the offensive line and with the amount of talented lineman in this year’s class–there’s a good chance they could find a solid player beyond the fourth pick in the first round.

Time is running out as the draft is quickly approaching–so it will be interesting to see what the next two days consist of for the Eagles and the possibility of trading the No. 4 pick.
